Impromptu Photos

We had a photo area set up at home this weekend to capture some product shots I needed for work. Before Claire and I left for Pinkalicious she asked Lucian to take some photos of her. We plopped her on the table and this is what we got:)

Spencer helped to wrangle Kyle for a few shots after Claire and I left. Love this guy.

Pinkalicious

My sister and I took Claire to a children's play based on the book Pinkalicious. Claire was excited about the show, but a little crabby once we were there. We have been phasing out her nap, but some days it's obvious she still needs one.

Before the show, one semi-smiling photo.
And, no more photos Mommy.

She did perk up quite a bit at intermission. It may have had something to do with the cupcakes.

Everyday since the show Claire has mentioned going again, so I think she liked it. She asked lots of questions and recited many lines from the book as the scenarios played out. She is one smart cookie.

Oh Winter...

Anytime someone lays on the floor, Kyle loves to crawl on top of them. Especially if it's Claire. Claire is complaining in this photo, but would ask him to come back after he got off. They sure do love each other.

Even though I was dead tired and ready for a nap, Claire convinced me to play outside with her on Sat. We played on the swing set, resurrected our tipped over snowman and had fun in the snow. I hope it was our last romp. I am ready for Spring!

We visited the art museum and took in a color photography exhibit Sunday. I asked Claire what she saw in a number of the images to keep her engaged. She also liked a few of the installations with headphones.

The museum building is absolutely beautiful. Claire had a grand time running about the atrium.

Peek a boo

We bought Claire a View Master in the gift shop. From then on, Claire walked around the museum taking photos of artwork just like her dad.

I am loving Kyle's long-ish hair lately. It's even fun in the bath.

Weekend Trip

We packed the car Saturday morning and headed to Rockford for an overnight at my parents. Aunt Mimi came with me and wrangled the children on our drive. Good thing too. I would need a set of Inspector Gadget arms to deal with the requests of these two on my own.

Our first stop in the Rock was Beef-A-Roo, one of our local favorites with a terrible name. We offered to pick up lunch there on the way in:)

Claire and I have been reading Pinkalicious, a story about a young girl that eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink. Nana helped us make pink cupcakes. And thanks to a food coloring mishap, my hands actually did turn pink. Mimi, Claire and I have tickets to see a Pinkalicious play in a few weeks.

Claire loves to play with the toys my mom saved from my sister and I. Here she is rocking out with My Little Ponies.

When we returned, Claire played for a few minutes riding her bike between the snow.

Nana Barb made Claire an awesome calendar to sort out the days of the week and where she goes each day.

Kyle enjoys pink cupcakes too.

And last night, Claire asked if she could wear her swim suit in the bath. Why not, right? It was a regular pool party.

Hodgepodge

Lucian and the kids made a snowman last week. Spen and Lucian were home from work/school, while I was at the office. I'm happy the big storm is mostly missing us today.

We spent Saturday morning at the photo studio taking shots of Lucian's cousin's daughter. I mostly chased the kids around and tried to help a bit. An office phone was the most popular toy for these two. I hope no one found strange voicemails awaiting them Monday morning.

During some down time Lucian snapped a few photos of Kyle. He wasn't so into it here as I held him for close ups. But he's so cute, even when he's mad.

Claire obliged my sweet tooth and joined me for some frozen yogurt.

On Monday Claire completed her gymnastics class for this session. She'll have a week off and then start up again on Saturdays.

Kyle is an expert climber. He loves to be in toy boxes, on chairs, or in the oven drawer...
