Claire Day

While Claire has been peeing on the potty since last September, we have had great difficulty mastering #2. We've modified her diet, tried every bribe and even resorted to taking things away.

After a really rough weekend, I called her doctor to see if there was anything she could take to make the process easier. Enter Myralax. Since last Friday Claire has been a pooping machine. Day care was so excited for her, they made it 'Claire Day' with a sign and all sorts of special privilages. She was so proud of herself. She declared "Now I am a school kid, now I can go to school!" We called both Nanas to share the wonderful news. She was over the moon and we were too:)

Kyle's 15 mo

Kyle had his 15-month checkup this week. He is a healthy growing boy. Here are his stats:
Weight: 24lb. 2.5oz. (75%)
Height: 32" (85%)
Head circumference: 49cm (95%)

Kyle is a great eater. He almost always eats more that his sis and I can still get him to chow down on numerous healthy options.

Kyle is a climber. He loves to be in the cupboard, the closet, a drawer or a box. He has the best sneaky grin he will flash to you just before his mischief. He wants to make sure you are watching.

Kyle is a fluctuating sleeper. He goes to bed so well but often wakes early. We've discovered he will go back to sleep if one of us lies with him on the couch. Almost every morning you can find Lucian or I under a blanket with the little bugger. The same held true for nap time the other day. After an hour in his bed, he rested comfortably with me for another hour on the couch.

Kyle is a ham. He makes silly faces all the time and then laughs at them with us. Claire asked to sit in his high chair the other day, so I brought up the booster for Ky.

Monkeys! I took the same photo of Claire at 15 months. You can see it here.

Nothing Fancy

Last week included some warmer temps and more daylight. It was invigorating and we tried to take advantage of every opportunity.

Claire and Kyle are definitely playing together more and more. I caught them using fridge magnets together the other morning and just sat and listened to their interaction. It was pretty cute.

Claire served us dinner the other night. I'm not sure the theme of the restaurant she works at, but pants are optional.
And finally the rain... It has been raining here for days and days. We've been stressing about our basement flooding (again) as the forecast seems to have no break in store. So far so good. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

They only up side is how adorable these kids look in rain gear. Lucian sent me this pic the other morning and I almost died laughing. Kyle resembles some sort of cross between a duck and an oompa loompa. I love it.

The guy has no fear and happily walks into the street or off a ledge. He is always on the go.

Happy Easter

Claire was fighting a stomach bug over the weekend. After a 3 hour nap Sat. morning and some digestive issues, she rebounded enough to color eggs for a bit.
The Easter Bunny visited our house and hid treat-filled eggs and goodie baskets. Kyle got an Elmo sound book and Claire got a ton of hair accessories, sunglasses and rhinestone cover for her iPod. I think the hunt was over before 7am.

We went to brunch and had an egg hunt at Nana Kathleen and Papa Dave's house. The weather could have been warmer, but the kids still had fun. I brought their boots to deal with the mud and lingering snow.

Day of Fun

Lucian took the kids to the Betty Brinn children's museum on Thursday. Nana Kathleen met them there with Lydia. They spent the morning exploring the exhibits and bought a membership so we can go back more frequently.

Kyle's first motorcycle ride
He got so good he was accepting passengers
 Go Claire, go
Claire learned to drive a bus
and loved playing in the supermarket exhibit

The girls had so much fun together, they asked for a sleepover. I made them chocolate chip pancakes before I left for work on Friday morning.

Owie

I got a somewhat panicked call from Lucian last week saying that Claire had fallen and cut her face on the coffee table. He took her her to urgent care and I raced out of work to meet them. Luckily Spen was home and able to stay with Kyle.

Since our coffee table has a sharp edge, it made a very clean cut which meant no stitches. She got a steri strip just to act as a barrier and it is healing up great.

Close-up

She had a bit of a shiner the next morning, but is looking great now. Glad it was nothing serious.
